Why Can't I Lose Weight?

Why can’t I lose weight? How many times have you asked yourself that? You are not alone. All the rest of us have asked the same thing. Most of us are still asking!

If you are struggling to lose some weight you might be thinking about giving up and just accepting things the way they are but guess what… that is exactly what most do… are you like most?

It is really about motivation. “How can I get the motivation to lose weight?” is the the question you need to be looking for the answer too. If you are motivated by things that don’t really mean much in life than even if you do succeed and lose some weight you will just put it back on later. I have done that… several times! How about you?

I was motivated to lose 25 lbs. I did it, and that was great but what next… nothing. And twelve months later I had put it all back on. Losing the 25 was a good short term goal but what I needed was a long term goal. Not that short term goals are bad… they have their place but what about after?

Your situation may be different. Maybe you haven’t been able to lose any weight at all or just not enough. No matter what our situation or circumstances it all boils down to the same thing. Picking a solid long term goal. And… make it a priority… a #1 priority.

How about being healthy or at least healthier? If we were to make our health a priority then every thing we do on a daily basis will revolve around taking care of our health. We would watch what we eat, we would do a little exercise, we would get the proper rest… the list goes on and on. But most of all we would enjoy it! And guess what? We will start to lose weight and be able to keep it off.

Living a little healthier is a long term goal or better yet a way of life that fits everyone… even you and I. With that in place we will be able to start losing some weight and keep it off for good. Make sure your priorities are in place first and then go after those short term weight loss goals and you will reach and keep them.
